Fried Green Tomatoes
1,25 cup of buttermilk, 1,5 cup flour, 3/4 cup cornmeal, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 7-8 tomatoes (medium or large) sliced, grease (lard), 1 egg beaten. Mix egg and buttermilk and then dip slices of tomatoes into this. Batter and fry at about 350-400 Degrees. Feed 7-8 people or 1 hog. Photo by Martha Rutland
